| Before ASKER.NET | - While it resides on the ASKER.NET server now, it was originally designed for my 5 MB of space on my first ISP. This site was made to learn HTML, have some fun, and stake my claim on the Internet. While it was not the prettiest site, what was back then? I mean, i had a 14.4k modem, Netscape 2.0 had just come out, and the internet was still sorta for geeks. | | ASKER.NET - the original | - This was the first ASKER.NET made when i was a senior in high school, and wanted a simple page that would load quickly and display my favorite web sites. It was also made with users in mind who still had old browsers that could not support many HTMl features. | | ASKER.NET - 2000 | - Made as a learning expirience with the language PHP and mySQL. The web page is entirely database driven, so even the links are located in a database. Each page loads the links from the database, so that if a person updates the database, all the pages are automatically updated. Much of the web page can be updated via an admin web page. | | ASKER.NET - 2002 | - This was an attempt to make a professional looking site, that would incorporate some links about my own personal projects, and focus more on ASKER.NET instead of links to other sites, like previous ASKER.NET web sites have. Again, most of the web site is database driven, with tables that simplify web design. I can update the page quickly and easily. Some of the pages are dynamically generated from the file structure, like the Downloads section, which i think is kinda cool. | |
